Water Mitigation at Bridge Properties
- Project Type: Water Mitigation
- Building Type: Multi-Family Housing
- Contact: Slays Restoration, Ill.
- Date of Loss: September 2013
On September 12, 2013, Bridge Properties called DKI Commercial Solutions (DKICS). Unprecedented, record-breaking rainfall had caused widespread flooding throughout Colorado - Considered a "thousand-year event;" areas that had history of no flooding became inundated.
In Aurora, Bridge's Landon Park Apartments were flooded by rising ground water. At the time of the first emergency call, around 3:00 PM, only sixteen units out of 512 had reported water damage. By the time DKICS arrived for pumping and extraction, 101 units reported water intrusion. Soon, the second story units of these two-story buildings reported water infiltration from the roof. As the count grew to 150 units, more DKICS members were called. This water damage restoration team brought manpower and top flight, experienced project managers to help restore this 32-building apartment complex and get the tenants back into their units. When the project was completed, nearly 200 units needed water damage repair due to infiltration.
At the same time, Bridge's Dartmouth Place in Denver was experiencing heavy rainfall that brought water infiltration into the apartments. This complex has 20 three-story buildings with 24 units in each building. By September 13, over 30 apartments reported water infiltration. When DKICS finished the pump/extraction and drying a week later, the total of 75 units had needed water damage restoration services.
This project exemplifies the strength of our DKICS unity. We bring the strength of a national network to local markets – anywhere in the US.
