January is almost over, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to start more New Year resolutions for the office. Here’s an idea that can be integrated whenever, and can help increase productivity, using little to no money.
Consider saving a space in the office for employees to take a break away from their desks.
- Throw some lounge chairs or even floor pillows in a corner for 15 to 20 minute catnaps.
- Hold a daily 15-minute yoga session. Provide yoga mats and perform a basic, quick routine to rejuvenate the mind.
- Build a small library with a simple bookshelf and books from garage sales or donations from the employees.
Fifteen to twenty minutes shouldn’t ruin your day’s work. In fact, it is essential for effective productivity to shut down your brains for just a few minutes a day, in between tasks. Just like a computer needs to reboot every now and then, so do our brains, especially when they are on information-overload, staring at a computer screen all day, every day.
I know, I know, sometimes you just don’t have 15 minutes. Well, how about two, then?
Sit back, listen to the waves and empty your mind for just two minutes. – StumbleUpon
