DKI member accepting UDK Chief Award

May 22, 2018 – Utah Disaster Kleenup (UDK), a member company of DKI, North America’s largest disaster restoration contracting organization, proudly announced receiving the Honorary Chief’s Award from the City of South Salt Lake Fire Department on Saturday, May 19 during South Salt Lake‘s Annual Awards Ceremony and Banquet.

The relationship between UDK and their local fire departments has been over 40 years in the making. While firefighters extinguish the flames of a property fire, UDK is there to pick up the pieces following and repair the damages.

Several years ago, UDK organized a contract with the several local fire authorities to board up and secure affected properties to reduce vandalism and break-ins after a fire. Working alongside the fire agencies, UDK provided these board-up services, which released the liability from the fire departments.

“UDK has always held firefighters close to heart. We are beyond humbled and honored to receive this award,” said Keri Jones, UDK’s director of sales and marketing. “’UDK, can you please come up’ were Chief Morris’s words and one of the sweetest sounds we’ve heard was the applause that followed.”
